Etihad A380 Residences – The Points Guy Review

Brian Kelly, The Points Guy, reviewed his experience flying Etihad Residence suite from New York JFK to Abu Dhabi.

I heard about the Etihad inaugural flight from New York-JFK to Abu Dhabi on its A380, I knew I had to go — not just because I’m a fan of aviation and premium-cabin travel, but also because I wanted to be the first to experience The Residence on the airline’s new flagship route. It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up, so I booked it (and 15 minutes after booking I got a call from the VIP team in Abu Dhabi welcoming me to the experience), looked forward to it for months and was completely in awe of everything I saw — both before I even got to the airport and on board for the duration of the flight.

Etihad Airways is a flag carrier and the second-largest airline of the United Arab Emirates (after Emirates). Its head office is in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, near Abu Dhabi International Airport (OMAA – ICAO). Established by Amiri decree of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in July 2003, Etihad commenced operations in November 2003. The airline operates more than 1,000 flights per week to over 120 passenger and cargo destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas, with a fleet of 119 Airbus and Boeing aircraft as of August 2015.
